Client Introduce: The company is one of the Chinese leading communication equipment companies offering a diverse models of communication chassis products and services in Telecommunication company, computers and phones.

Case background

This metal handle was developed by our company ten years ago and was also the first product of our later major customers.At the beginning of research and development, the main issues were the degree of surface polishing of the product and the color brightness after surface treatment. Because he needs the same color as the cabinet.Another biggest challenge is that after electroplating, the product needs to undergo coating testing, salt spray testing, and knife poking testing. So we had provided at least 10 times of samples and then confirmed.

Solution

Harber MIM was the best place for the above-mentioned manufacturer.Based on the actual needs of customers, we organized project research, designed special mold fixtures, tooling fixtures, inspection fixtures, and conducted comprehensive validation of the process. After several optimizations, the sample successfully passed the customer's testing in less than 2 months.

The handle made of stainless iron is more high-grade than that made of zinc alloy and aluminum alloy. The quality is much better and it is not easy to break.Therefore, our customer changed into our MIM process. 

In this researching period, the chrome plating is the most headache problem. We found at least 4 plating supplier to test. After 10 times, our customer confirmed the sample. Later, we had strong support from outsourcing suppliers and developed many products that needed chrome plating, achieving a win-win situation. Chrome plating could pass 48 hours spray test.

Until today, the handle had a lifetime of at least 10 years. We are have rich experience on steel part of plating like chrome, nickle, zinc and dacromet ect.
